I understand the need to "save the masses from themselves" and 'just say no" to drugs, but...

A 40-year-old man was in custody Thursday after police seized a half-pound of methamphetamines with an estimated street value of some $30,000 that he tried to discard during a possible drug sale in Pomona.

Uh, OK... Now, have any of you ever been to Pomona? I have... And I dry heave at the memory. It's the armpit of the United States. It's where WalMart shoppers go to die.

If I was unlucky enough to find myself living in hellish doldrums of Pomona, I'd need half a pound of meth. Easily half a pound! And that's on a good day!
