Unless you've been living under a pop culture rock, I'm sure you, by now, know...
The Writers Guild of America has announced that its 12,000 members will go on strike Monday morning against studios and networks.
As a struggling writer myself, here's my 2 cents... Give the writers that extra 4-cents a DVD. And give them what's deserved when it comes to online and internet credit, cash and/or otherwise. If the Friends can make $1,000,000 an episode, there's no reason that the writers, the brains behind the bread and butter of the show, shouldn't get a small sliver of the studio dough. The writers deserve their (low-carb) cake, and they deserve to eat it too!
PS: To all of my friends who will soon find themselves out of a job in the coming weeks... GLaC-BiD is always hiring. And sadly, it probably pays as well as being a studio assistant.
